Delia Rose Price



Delia Rose Taylor Price, 93, died Thursday evening, November 1, 2018. The daughter of Jessie Roland and Lilly Myrtle Snipes Taylor, she was born and died on her family’s tobacco farm in the Oakdale community of Greene County. Mrs. Price held many jobs related to public education. She retired from Lenoir Community College where she worked at Heritage Place with genealogy. She was a member and attended Eden Christian Church until her health declined.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Wilmer Ralph “Dick” Price; a second husband, Marion S. Wilson; an infant son, George William Price; and a sister, Edna Taylor Highsmith.

Her surviving family includes her children, W. Ralph Price (Diane) of Raleigh, Myra Price Frazier (Edward) of Lynch Station, Virginia, and Dicky Taylor Price (Sharon) of Oakdale; grandchildren, Tracie M. Dugas (Jeff) of Birmingham, AL, Jennifer B. Logan of Fayetteville, Kathy B. Pike (Clifton) of New Bern, Edward Frazier II (Shelly) of Raleigh, Taylor Douglas (Chandler) of Morrisville, Sean Price (Samantha) of Raleigh, and Kelly Price of Raleigh; six great-grandchildren, Christopher Dugas, Caroline Dugas, Jay Pike, Will Pike, Payton Logan, and Connor Douglas; and a special friend whom she considered a brother, Baxter Hardy (Faye) of Jason.

Funeral Services will be held 3 PM Sunday, November 4th, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with Pastor Scott Hardy officiating. Interment will be held privately at the Rainbow Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday prior to the service from 2:00 – 2:45 PM and other times at the Price residence.
