Elsie May Hill, age 95, passed away at Vidant Medical Center on March 16, 2018. She was born October 8, 1922, to the late Charles and Maude Fisher May in Nash County. She furthered her education at Atlantic Christian College where pursued her education degree. This was the beginning of her love for teaching in Greene County Schools. Mrs. Hill was married to Albert McKinley Hill of Snow Hill. Mrs. Hill was not only active in the local church but served on the District level as well.

After her retirement, Mrs. Hill was a charter member of Greene County Fidelis XI Sorority of Alpha Delta Kappa.
Mrs. Hill moved to Cypress Glenn Retirement Community in 2004, where she lived out her life happy and content. She claimed many of the staff as her adopted children. Cypress Glen became her extended home where she served on various committees and the Executive Resident Council.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Hill; brother, Charles B May; sister, Frances May Delamar.
Her two daughters, Rosalyn Hill Moody and husband, Danny of Atlantic Beach, and Harriett Hill Baker and husband, David of Farmville, NC, survive her along with her grandchildren; Dave Baker and wife, Charlotte of Winterville, Stacey Baker Pattie and husband, Marsh of Crozet, VA, Ben Thompson of Mount Olive, and Jeff Thompson and wife Adrianne, of Raleigh. Her great grandchildren include Trace and Caleb Baker, McKinley and Miles Pattie, and Kelsey Thompson. She is also survived by her sister, Marie May Braswell of Nashville, NC.
