Ms. Annie Mae Webb Bennett, 84, died Thursday evening, March 15, 2018. A native of Wilson County, she was born September 27, 1933, the daughter of Frank and Maude Eastwood Webb. Being reared in a farm family, Annie Mae possessed a strong work ethic and sense of independence that she carried throughout her entire life. She was a graduate of Saratoga Central High School, a retiree of E.I. DuPont in Kinston where she worked for over 30 years, and a longtime resident of Hookerton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruby Boswell, Robert Webb and Donnie Webb.
Annie Mae is survived by her daughter Nan Bennett of Rocky Mount; sisters, Delphia Harrell (Boots) of Emerald Isle and Hilda Bennett (Dickie) of Wilson; a brother, Frank Webb, Jr. (Lois) of Elm City; along with several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held graveside 3:30 PM Sunday, March 18, at the Queen Anne Cemetery in Fountain with Reverend Steven Gay officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 – 2:45 PM at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service in Snow Hill.
