Mr. Jenness Merrill Windham, 78, died Monday morning, December 18, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Pitt County October 27, 1939, he was the son of William and Katie Bibbs Windham. Jenness was a veteran having served in the US Air Force for 8 years and then in the National Guard for 22 years. In his retirement, Jenness was fond of working in his yard, enjoyed fishing and dearly loved his pets.
His surviving family includes his wife, Shelly Rose Howell Windham of the home; son, Paul Windham of Kinston; granddaughter, Lyndsy Windham; a brother, Gene Windham and wife, Annette of Falkland; mother-in-law, Grace Howell of Snow Hill; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2 PM Wednesday, December 20, at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Wednesday and other times at the home of Grace Howell, 1086 Free Gospel Road, Snow Hill. Online condolences at www.taylor-tyson.com
