Charlie F. Graves



Mr. Charlie Franklin Graves, 67, passed away Thursday morning, June 29, 2017, at his home. Born September 3, 1949, Charlie was the son of Curtis Ray and Ruby May Graves and lived most of his life in the Maury Community. He was a graduate of Greene Central High School and had retired from the former Collins and Aikman in Farmville where he worked for 36 years. Charlie was a member of Ballard’s Community Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Audrey G. Wooten, Herbert Graves, Edgar Ray Graves and Gene Curtis Graves; and granddaughter, Amber Avery.

His surviving family includes his wife of 49 years, Mary Dail Graves; daughter, Wendy Graves Avery and husband, Henry of Farmville; grandchildren, Nicholas Avery and Elizabeth Avery, both of Farmville; and sister, Joan Graves Joyner of Kinston.

Funeral Services will be held 3 PM Saturday, July 1, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Reverend Brad Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
