Mr. Marvin Jones Fordham, 93, died Friday morning, April 7, 2017. A native of Jones County, he was born August 21, 1923, the son of Benjamin Oliver and Eleanor Fordham. Following graduation from high school, he served in the US Army during WWII. Professionally, Mr. Fordham was a bookkeeper and a very active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in the Kinston, Greenville and Snow Hill Lodges. Following retirement, he traveled extensively participating in the Ritual Team for the Loyal Order of the Moose.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Amy Letchworth Fordham; children, Marvin J. Fordham, Jr. of Clayton, Brad Fordham of McLean, Virginia, Pamela Nicole Petersen of California, and Derek Hines of Georgia; sister, Joyce Dudley of Burlington; brother, Benjamin O. Fordham, Jr. of Asheville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, April 11, at Pinelawn Memorial Park with the Loyal Order of the Moose Tribute Service. Additionally, the service will include rendering of Military Honors.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 – 8 PM at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service.
