Noah Y. Sugg



Noah Yount Sugg, 88, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017. A native of Greene County, he was born November 14, 1928, the son of Samuel Clayton and Olive Yount Sugg. He was a graduate of the Snow Hill High School and had focused the majority of his years before retirement primarily on farming and other agricultural related industries. Mr. Sugg was a member of the First Baptist Church in Snow Hill where he was very active until moving into an assisted living environment at Herritage Elite in Kinston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Mewborn Sugg in 1989.

His surviving family includes his children, Noah Y Sugg, Jr. and wife, Betty Sue of Pikeville, John C. Sugg and wife, Willamina of Hookerton, Linda S. Conner and husband, George of Roanoke Rapids, Nancy S. Henderson and husband, Randall of Burgaw, and Michael E. Sugg and wife, Kay of Clayton; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Sugg Craven of Arizona; and wife, Myrtle Wooten Sugg of Farmville.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 8th, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with Pastor David Sawyer officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
